Your Facebook Page may now be limited to two posts containing a link per month, unless you pay for Meta One for Business, Meta’s new paid subscription packages for professional accounts. If you post links to your site, your booking page or your shop, that is a cap on how often you can send people from Facebook to your own business for free. The good news: by Meta’s own numbers, those link posts were already reaching very few people.
The cap itself is not brand new. Meta started a limited test restricting certain Pages to two links per month in December 2025. What changed this week is the scale. With Meta One for Business now launched, the restriction appears to have been extended to more Pages, and a range of Page managers reported seeing a pop up alert explaining it. Meta has said the test is meant to show whether the ability to publish more link posts adds value for paying users.
Work out what your links are actually worth
Before you reach for a credit card, check what link posts do for you today. Meta’s Widely Viewed Content report for Q1 2026 says 98.7% of post views in the U.S. did not include a link to anything outside Facebook. That share has been shrinking for years: posts with a link made up 9.8% of viewed content in 2022, and 1.3% in this latest report.
So the question is not how to get your links back. It is how much business those links were bringing you in the first place.
- Look at how much traffic Facebook actually sent your site over the past three months.
- Put a number on what that traffic earned you, in leads or in sales.
- If the number is small, spend your two link posts on your single highest value offer and stop treating Facebook as a traffic source.
One thing to check before you pay. Meta One for Business lists a limited number of links for Instagram posts and Reels, varying by tier. Facebook post links are not listed as a benefit at this stage. So a subscription today may not buy you the thing you are trying to fix.
