Xreal Cuts Price on Premium AR Glasses to $599

Xreal just made their best AR glasses $50 cheaper forever. The Xreal One Pro, which used to cost $649, now permanently costs $599.

These aren’t your typical clunky VR headsets. The One Pro glasses look almost like regular sunglasses but can display movies, games, and apps right in front of your eyes. Xreal says they’ve built special thin lenses that block reflections, so you get crisp, clear images without the washed-out look that ruins other AR glasses.

Racing to the Bottom

The price cut puts pressure on competitors like Apple’s Vision Pro, which costs $3,499, and Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. Xreal is betting that making AR glasses affordable will get more people to try them.

The company also sells cheaper AR glasses called the Air 2S for $449, but the One Pro offers better image quality and less light bleeding through. At $599, you’re paying $150 more for significantly better visuals and comfort.

AR glasses have struggled to catch on with regular consumers. Most are either too expensive, too bulky, or the screens look terrible in bright light. Xreal thinks they’ve solved the screen problem, and now they’re tackling the price issue.

What’s Next

Expect more AR glasses companies to slash prices this year. Apple’s expensive Vision Pro showed there’s interest in the technology, but also proved most people won’t pay thousands for it. Companies like Xreal are now racing to find the sweet spot where AR glasses are cheap enough for regular people but good enough to actually use.
