Samsung’s Smart Glasses Look Exactly Like Ray-Ban Metas

Samsung’s first smart glasses have leaked online, and they look almost identical to Meta’s popular Ray-Ban smart glasses. The upcoming Galaxy Glasses could be announced at Google’s big conference next month.

What makes this interesting is how Samsung seems to be copying Meta’s homework. Instead of creating something totally new, they’re playing it safe with a design that already works.

Same Look, Different Company

The leaked images show glasses that you’d struggle to tell apart from Ray-Ban Metas at first glance. Samsung has code-named them “Jinju” and plans to price them between $379 and $499 – exactly what Meta charges for their glasses.

Like the Ray-Ban Metas, Samsung’s version won’t have a screen. Instead, they’ll likely focus on taking photos, recording videos, and connecting to your phone. They’ll run on a Qualcomm chip, which is the same company that powers many smartphones.

This copycat approach isn’t unusual for Samsung. The company often waits to see what works for competitors, then creates their own version. It happened with smartphones, smartwatches, and now smart glasses.

What’s Next

Expect Samsung to announce these glasses at Google I/O in May, where Google typically shows off new Android features. Samsung will probably emphasize how well the glasses work with Galaxy phones and other Samsung devices.

The real question is whether people want another pair of smart glasses that look and cost the same as what’s already available. Samsung will need to offer something special beyond just having their logo on the side.
