Nintendo announced a special bundle deal for its new Switch 2 console that includes both Super Mario Galaxy games for $50 extra. The company is promoting the bundle alongside the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie hitting theaters.
This marks the first official game bundle for Nintendo’s newest console, which launched at $449.99. The timing isn’t coincidental – Nintendo is clearly trying to boost console sales by tying into the movie’s marketing campaign.
Movie Magic Meets Gaming
The Super Mario Galaxy games originally launched on the Wii console over a decade ago and became instant classics. Both games feature Mario traveling through space, jumping between planets with unique gravity mechanics that made players rethink how platforming games work.
Nintendo has been aggressive about cross-promoting their entertainment properties lately. After the massive success of The Super Mario Bros Movie in 2023, the company seems committed to using Hollywood releases to drive hardware and game sales.
