Claude AI Can Now Design Apps and Websites For You

Anthropic just launched Claude Design, a new tool that lets anyone create apps, websites, presentations and graphics just by describing what they want. You tell Claude what to make, and it builds a working design you can edit and refine.

This puts Anthropic in direct competition with design giants like Figma, Canva, and Adobe. The difference is Claude started as a chatbot and added design skills, while the others are design tools adding AI.

Just Tell It What You Want

Claude Design works like having a super-fast designer colleague. You type something like “make a meditation app with calming colors and clean layout,” and Claude creates a first version. Then you can tweak it using comment boxes, sliders, or direct edits.

The tool runs on Claude’s newest model, Opus 4.7, which handles complex coding tasks. It’s available now to paid Claude subscribers across Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.

Bigger companies can upload their existing code and design files so Claude learns their brand colors, fonts, and style. Then every new design automatically matches their company look.

What This Means

We’re seeing AI design tools everywhere now. Google has Stitch, Figma added AI features, and Canva is basically an AI company at this point. The lines between chatbots, design tools, and coding assistants are disappearing fast.

Expect more companies to let you build professional-looking designs without hiring designers or learning complex software. Claude Design might make creating websites and apps as easy as writing an email.
