Adobe just launched a new AI assistant for Photoshop on phones and web browsers that lets anyone edit photos like a pro. You can literally talk to it or draw with your finger to make changes happen automatically.
This isn’t just another AI image generator. While tools like ChatGPT can create pictures from scratch, Adobe’s assistant works differently. It analyzes your actual photos, understands what’s in them, and suggests smart edits you might want to make.
Point and Edit Magic
Here’s how it works: When you open a photo, the AI assistant scans everything in the image. It figures out what’s a person, what’s background, and what objects are cluttering up your shot. Then it suggests fixes like “remove those scattered objects” or “brighten the lighting.”
You can accept the suggestions, give voice commands, or even draw on your phone screen to show what you want changed. The AI does the heavy lifting while you stay in control.
The real advantage over standalone AI image tools is precision and workflow. Instead of generating random images, you’re editing your actual photos with professional-level tools. Plus, your edited images can move seamlessly into other Adobe apps for video projects or publishing.
What’s Next
This puts Adobe in direct competition with Google and OpenAI’s image generators, but with a focus on editing real photos rather than creating fake ones. As the public beta rolls out, expect to see a lot more people creating professional-looking images without needing years of Photoshop training.
