Americans Still Trust Fauci More Than RFK Jr.

A new survey shows Americans trust Dr. Anthony Fauci more than Robert F. Kennedy Jr. when it comes to health advice. People also say they trust career scientists over political appointees.

This matters because RFK Jr. is expected to have a big role in health policy under the new administration. He’s been one of Fauci’s biggest critics, constantly attacking his handling of COVID and vaccines. But the public isn’t buying it.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

The survey found that most Americans still see Fauci as more credible than Kennedy on health issues. They also prefer getting medical guidance from scientists who’ve worked in government for years rather than people appointed for political reasons.

This creates an interesting problem. RFK Jr. has spent years trying to damage Fauci’s reputation, claiming he misled the public about COVID and vaccines. Kennedy built a following by positioning himself as someone fighting against the medical establishment.

But regular Americans seem to distinguish between political noise and actual expertise. They’re more likely to trust someone with decades of experience in infectious diseases over someone known for promoting vaccine conspiracy theories.

What This Means

This trust gap could make it harder for RFK Jr. to implement major health policy changes. If people don’t see him as credible, they might ignore new health guidance or resist policy shifts.

The results suggest that despite all the political attacks, Americans still value scientific expertise over political messaging when their health is on the line.
